Fairfax Squadron Cadet Commander
Cadet Captain Conor

Cadet Captain Conor joined the CAP cadet program and the Skagit Composite Squadron in Washington Wing on July 6, 1999 at age 13, with the goal to become a military aviator.

One month later in August 1999, Cadet Conor went to his first Type A encampment.  During the following years he progressed quickly through the cadet program, attending three more encampments where he attended advanced training and served as Logistics NCO and later as a Flight Commander.

After three years in the program, Cadet Conor earned the Billy Mitchell Award.  This award boosted his hopes and chances of achieving his dream, and inspired him to continue to reach out for more challenges and to keep progressing through the program.

Beginning to see dreams coming to reality when he was accepted to the Washington Wing Flight Encampment, Cadet Conor attended the 10-day encampment and graduated, earning the coveted Solo Wings with eleven hours of flight time in a Cessna 152.

Serving as a Cadet Flight Commander during his fourth year in the cadet program, Cadet Conor participated actively as leadership for numerous unit activities such as Search and Rescue exercises, air shows, flood relief and leadership training.

In Spring of 2003, Cadet Conor's father was called to active duty in the Navy and transferred from Washington State to the Washington DC.  Cadet Conor then transferred his membership to the Fairfax Composite Squadron where he initially served as the Training Flight Commander until being selected as the Squadron's Cadet Commancder.

Cadet Conor is still pursuing his dreams of becoming a military aviator and is in the process of applying to the US Air Force and US Naval Academies.
